The VIVOTEK IP8161 fixed network camera is a professional-quality camera that provides day or night functionality. The camera captures razor-sharp images that are true-to-life enough to be used for accurate facial identification and the identification of license plates and other small text. This makes the VIVOTEK IP8161 fixed network camera suitable for surveillance in areas such as banks and casinos, as well as for areas such as parking lots.

The VIVOTEK IP8161 fixed network camera has the ability to zoom in on any part of a frame. This allows the full capacity of the 2-megapixel image quality to be put to use for video content analysis. The camera is also capable of transmitting two separate data streams, each customized in terms of frame rate and quality. The H.264 streaming format, as well as the ability to transmit MPEG-4 and MJPEG formats, make this camera very suitable for networks where bandwidth needs to be conserved, but where image quality needs to be maintained. The camera is also provided with a slot for an SD/SDHC card that can provide extra storage and that prevents data loss during network outages.

The VIVOTEK IP8161 fixed network camera can be powered directly from the Ethernet, eliminating the need for separate power sources. The camera comes with 32-CH central management software included. Lens accessories can be added with the CS- or C-mount adjustment ring. The camera comes with a 3-8mm auto-iris lens.
