The VIVOTEK IP7142 outdoor network camera is provided with a rugged housing that makes it suitable for tough conditions. It is also capable of capturing high-quality images in low-light conditions. The camera is provided with a removable IR-cut filter. The filter is in place during the day, preventing IR interference with image capture. It moves aside at night, allowing the camera to take full advantage of the IR emitting diodes that flood the scene with invisible light out to 15 meters. This makes it suitable for environments that need to be monitored around the clock.

The VIVOTEK IP7142 Outdoor Network Camera is provided with an IP66-rated housing. The camera is resistant to dust and to water, making it suitable for monitoring any outdoor location. The camera is also very technologically advanced. It can receive power directly from the Ethernet, allowing it to be installed with minimal cabling. The camera is also provided with an RS-485 interface that allows it to be panned and tilted and to perform scans.
