Speed Dome IP Camera Overview

A Speed Dome network camera is an advanced functioning pan, tilt and optical zoom network camera. Traditional pan, tilt and zoom network cameras are usually made with restrictions as to the range the camera may pan or tilt. A speed dome network camera will allow for 360° continuous pan and tilt and can usually be found to include a high quality optical zoom lens. Speed dome network cameras can greatly reduce the amount of cameras needed for an installation due to the ability to cover more area by moving the camera’s field of view. Joystick control is typically used to control speed dome network cameras due to the quick and responsive movement capabilities.
