NVR Servers Overview

A network video recording (NVR) server is a stand-alone device capable of monitoring and recording IP cameras and video server or video encoder devices. NVR servers feature NVR software and allow for both local or remote administration and monitoring. NVR servers are available in different variations dependent on the number of cameras to be connected and the amount of hard drive space required for video recorded data. Most NVR servers also allow for data redundancy to be configured via RAID configuration. NVR servers typically include storage and NVR software. However, some NVR device variation sell these items separately thus allowing for custom configuration and installation. This section will feature NVR server with and without NVR software or storage.
