AXIS Q7900 Overview

The AXIS Q7900 (0287-004) rack is designed to work with the AXIS Q7406 Video Encoder Blades, providing a very dense array of cameras in a small space. The device is designed with redundant systems that prevent the need to shut it down for maintenance and repairs. The device is also able to provide control to PTZ cameras and contains input and output connections for external devices. The AXIS Q7900 rack is a professional solution for large installations that need security systems that are as reliable as possible and that need to integrate many different cameras.

Provided with the AXIS Q7406 Video Encoder Blades in each of its 14 slots, the AXIS Q7900 rack delivers support for 84 analog cameras. The pan, tilt and zoom functions on these cameras can be controlled via the RS-485 connectors found at the back of each slot. The device can also be networked with alarms triggers and can turn on lights, close doors and provide other security functions via the 12 external I/O ports on the back of each slot. This device has 4 Ethernet connections that provide 1GB speed. The device is excellent for expanding video surveillance systems.

The AXIS Q7900 rack has redundant power supplies, eliminating the need to shut down the system into the event that one of them fails. The device also has removable, cassette-style fans that allow fast and efficient changing of the devices. Its many features make this an excellent choice for the largest installations and the most sensitive security environments.
