AXIS 225FD Overview

The AXIS 225FD (0243-004) is a powerful fixed dome video surveillance network camera.

Indoor/Outdoor, Day/Night Functionality

The AXIS 225FD (0243004) network camera has a rugged, durable casing that can be used in both indoor and outdoor conditions. It can handle temperatures down to -20? C with its built in heater, as well as high humidity conditions. A built-in fan allows it to handle temperatures up to 50? C.

Its rugged durable casing also makes it resistant to tampering. Should someone still attempt to tamper with the camera, there is also a tamper triggered alarm which will immediately notify you of the occurrence.

For use in both day and night conditions, the AXIS 225FD has a built-in, automatic infrared-cut sensor, switching to black and white infrared video in nighttime conditions. Minimum illumination in black and white mode is 0.2 lux.

Standard or Tele lens

Two different lenses are available with the AXIS 225FD network camera. The standard lens is for use in normal situations, and gives a viewing angle of 36? to 75?. In use in more spacious locations, the tele varifocal lens has a 10? to 20? viewing angle and gives excellent quality images when the camera is mounted far away from the surveillance area.

Power over Ethernet

The AXIS 225FD boasts Power over Ethernet technology on the IEEE 802.3af protocol. Power over Ethernet reduces cabling requirements since power is provided by the network. (When heater is in use, external power outlet is required). The camera can also be connected to an Uninterruptable Power Supply (UPS), to ensure continuity of power even during brownout conditions.

Simultaneous MPEG-4/Motion JPEG Video Compression

For the best in bandwidth efficiency, the AXIS 225FD provides simultaneous MPEG-4 and Motion JPEG streams. Both streams have variable frame rate and resolution configurations, allowing you to best optimize bandwidth efficiency over the network. For added network security, IP address filtering, HTTPS encryption and multi-level user access with password protection are also included.
