The AXIS 216FD is a versatile, professional and tamper resistant network camera.
Superior Quality Imaging
Like all AXIS network cameras, the AXIS 216FD boasts superior quality imaging. Unlike traditional cameras which use an interlaced image sensor, taking two images and merging them into one, the AXIS 216FD’s progressive scan CMOS image sensor takes in an entire image in one take. This reduces lines and other deficiencies which can blue interlaced video. It also has speeds of up to 30 fps in all VGA resolutions, and is suitable for any indoor use. The camera even works in low-light conditions down to 1 lux.
Tamper Resistant Casing
For added security the casing of the AXIS 216FD is tamper resistant. The glass dome is secured from the inside of the casing so it can only be removed if the casing is off. Casing can be secured to the wall using tamper-proof screws to keep anyone from getting inside. There is also a tamper trigger alarm sensor.
Advanced Event Management
The AXIS 216FD supports a number of advanced event management capabilities. Multi-window video motion detection, audio detection and tamper trigger alarm sensors. This network camera also includes I/O ports which can be connected to other devices for a multitude of purposes: turn lights on or off on alarm signals, open or close doors, etc. The options are nearly endless.
Support for Two-Way Audio
Two-way audio can also be configured for the AXIS 216FD network camera. A built-in microphone is already included in the camera for one way sound, and it can be connected to external speakers to allow you to communicate to people on the ground in the surveillance area.
Advanced API (Application Programming Interface) Application
The AXIS 216FD supports the AXIS VAPIX® API software for advanced software integration. This gives you the power to integrate your video surveillance system with almost any software on the market, giving you a whole host of new security options for the AXIS 216FD.
