AXIS 212 PTZ Overview

The AXIS 212 PTZ (0257-004) is redefining the way we think of PTZ. It provides excellent coverage in indoor areas up to 150m² (500 square feet).

Redefining PTZ

The AXIS 212 PTZ (0257004) is unique among network cameras in that it provides full PTZ capabilities without any moving parts. This means that wear and tear is eliminated as all parts of the camera remain stationary.

This remarkable feat is accomplished with the camera’s high resolution, 3 Megapixel image sensor and wide-angle lens. The camera is able to take in a full 140° field of vision at a single time, so you don’t miss a thing in the coverage area. If an enhanced image is required, the PTZ works instantly to bring a specific area into sharper focus with up to 3x zoom, as well as pan and tilt in the area under surveillance. Pan, tilt and zoom can all be done with a single click of the mouse.

High Resolution in All Settings

With its 3 Megapixel image sensor, the AXIS 212 PTZ is able to maintain the same image quality in standard and zoom modes. This is made possible by its use of oversampling technology. No matter whether you are taking in the full image or zooming in, a constant image resolution of 640x480 is maintained.

Secure Network Video

To ensure the security of the video network, the AXIS 212 PTZ comes with a number of built-in security protocols. This includes multi-level user accounts with password protection, IP address filtering and HTTPS encryption.

Simultaneous MPEG-4/Motion JPEG Video Compression

For greater control and flexibility the AXIS 212 PTZ includes simultaneous MPEG-4/Motion JPEG streams. Both streams can be configured for varying frame rates and image resolutions to enhance bandwidth efficiency at all times.

Advanced Event Management

The AXIS 212 PTZ also boasts enhanced event management capabilities. It includes both video motion detectors and audio detectors, which can be programmed with advanced events such as automatic notification and video uploads over a number of network protocols.
