Aimetis Receives Award for Growth in Video Surveillance Software Market
Based on its recent analysis of the North American video surveillance SOFTWARE markets, Frost & Sullivan recognizes
Aimetis Corp.
with the 2007 Growth Excellence of the Year Award. This Award
recognizes Aimetis for its technological innovation in embedding video
analytics into digital signal processors (DSP) for edge devices, Long
before the market realized their importance.
"
Analytics in video surveillance is experiencing explosive growth and one of the most important trends is the move to embed analytics into edge devices such as
IP cameras and encoders,"
says Frost & Sullivan Research Analyst George C. Paul. "Aimetis is
one of the few companies to have embedded video analytics on a DSP,
having done so since 2004. Aimetis video analytics algorithms run on
Texas Instruments" DM642 for camera solutions and Freescale's 8144 for
multi-channel devices."
The company's intelligent video software includes the VE Series of video analytics algorithms, as well as Aimetis' open
IP-surveillance software, AIRA v5.0, for robust video management.
AIRA v5.0 is the first open software platform for video management
to support "smart" cameras and encoders with video analytics embedded
in the device.
In Frost & Sullivan's research, Aimetis was one of the few
players that consistently received positive feedback on the reliability
of its products. "The accuracy rates for some Aimetis applications such
as people counting are as high as 95 percent, and advanced motion
tracking algorithm with the VE250 is as high as 99 percent accurate,"
Notes Paul. "In addition, Aimetis protects its reliability by ensuring
that its sales process, from the manufacturer to the distribution
partner, sets expectations appropriately regarding the abilities of the
software."
"We work hard to ensure our products and services are aligned to
market requirements and our embedded solutions will continue to be a
big part of our growth strategy," adds Marc Holtenhoff, CEO of Aimetis.
"We are pleased and proud that Frost & Sullivan has recognized
Aimetis for its Performance and execution in this area."
Each year Frost & Sullivan presents the Growth Excellence of
the Year award to the company that has demonstrated excellence in
implementing and sustaining growth through unique growth strategies in
its respective industry. Frost & Sullivan, through an exhaustive
selection process, seeks to identify a company that has exhibited
excellence in all its functional areas; resulting in sustained
financial growth and concluded that
Aimetis best exhibited that excellence in 2007.
