handheld monitor

handheld monitor

Postby miaent on Fri Oct 24, 2008 10:43 am

I have panasonic network cameras at my home. I am looking for a wifi handhelf monitor solution. Simply, I want to be able to monitor my baby in the nursery by viewing one of the network cameras w/ audio. I know cell phones that have browers that support active x movie works w/o audio but I am thinking there has to be a better soloution. And I don't want to buy a tablet PC which is to expensive for this application. Any thoughts appreciated.

You can actually get IP cameras specifically for baby monitoring. They are cheap as well. The only other option is to get a handheld device that can view images of the Internet and get your panasonic network camera to FTP snapshots to a website.

I am looking for an easy to use wired baby monitoring solution without a PC.
Thus an IP cam which connects via CAT5 to a router or directly to a monitor on the other end also attached by means of CAT5 cabling.
Is this possible and available?

Got a couple of replies with only question marks..... ?????
I will re-phrase my question:

I am looking for an easy to use "wired baby monitoring solution" without a PC.
Specifically it should be a Camera which connects via (twisted) CAT5 to a monitor on the other end.
Is this possible and available?

Thanks.

Hi All,

Am I the only one looking for such a device?

The idea is to have crisp video from one end of my home to the other as I have Cat5 cabling installed all over the place. Problem is that due to thick walls the option of wireless will not work.
Thanks.

David
