Vivotek Products Innovate Childcare Services via Daycare Webwatch

    Wednesday, January 13th, 2010
    Vivotek Daycare Webwatch

Toronto based Daycare Webwatch is transforming traditional methods of childcare services and is giving parents added peace of mind when leaving their children in the care of others. Through the technology of IP network video surveillance and Vivotek IP network video surveillance products, Daycare Webwatch provides the ability for parents to monitor their children through live camera video feeds that are accessible to parents over the Internet. This added level of surveillance allows parents who have placed the care of their child to others the ability to check in on their child and obtain peace of mind knowing they can easily see what happens throughout the course of the day.

Currently, the Vivotek VS2403 video server devices are used to convert the existing analog surveillance cameras to digital video feeds that are then accessible locally on the local network and remotely via the Internet. The VS2403 provides a secure video feed to authorized users and also adds the capability of providing privacy masking. The VS2403 is also capable of handling motion detected events and will allow for alarm notification with pre and post event snapshots available for viewing. The Vivotek VS2403 will allow for up to four analog camera connections per video server. With the continued advancement in IP camera technology, Daycare Webwatch will soon be transitioning to a complete IP based solution with IP camera devices providing better image quality and higher frame rates than traditional analog surveillance cameras systems.

    Vivotek Press Release Excerpt:
Daycare Webwatch, in less than ten years, has expanded their local business in Toronto to all of North America, with care centers ranging from San Diego, California to Orlando, Florida, and many locations in between. With the increased value proposition from using VIVOTEK products, Daycare Webwatch has prominently differentiated itself from its competition. “It is a very competitive business and any additional value-added service allows a childcare center to differentiate itself. If a parent is choosing between two centers and one has our viewing system, they choose our center every time,” says MacDonald.
