VIVOTEK can add their ability to enhance security at two of Granada’s most prolific sports facilities to their list of impressive feats. Both the Estadio Nuevo Los Carmenes stadium and the Palcio Municipal de Deportes de Granada, meccas of sports entertainment in the suburb of Zaidin had a necessity to increase their security capabilities.
Both venues fall under the management of GESCA, the Zaidin government body that also administers the police department. The GESCA sought the assistance of established security solutions provider GUNNEBO and TECNIMATIC, a local IT & Security installer. It was with their guidance that the areas were able to implement additional security surveillance systems, as well as utilize the locations existing security resources onto an IP-based infrastructure. It was the goal of the security project to realize the full potentials of round the clock maintenance and security monitoring. They also intended to utilize the security recordings to archive sports matches for later viewing.
Facilitators of the sports stadium agreed to implement twenty VIVOTEK cameras (SD7323 (US Version SD7313), IZ7151, IP7142 and FD7132). Each camera was to be placed in a pre-determined location, with a single SD7323 being placed on top of each of the four stadium lighting towers.
The SD7323 camera is uniquely engineered for outdoor use only and features both electronic image stabilizing capabilities and strict IP67 weatherproofing ability. The 35x optical zoom enables full coverage of the large spectator area even through each dome camera was located at considerable heights.
Surveillance and monitoring of each of the additional entry was made possible by strategically placing cameras near gates and revolving doors to further enhance the security of both patrons and players. The stadium took advantage of the IZ7151 to monitor smaller locations as well as afford them the ability to quickly utilize video clarity and exceptional detail should a situation arise that would require security personnel require to make a positive facial identification.
