Southeastern Chinas Xiamen Maternity and Child Healthcare Hospital expressed an immediate need to upgrade their vast analog security system. While the system made use of video monitoring capabilities and stationary guard posts, it was no longer efficient enough to keep pace with the hospitals growing needs. It was the desire of the centre to implement a surveillance solution that not only met the varying demands of each of the departments within the hospital, but also provided the ability to integrate a multitude of advanced security functions into on all encompassing system.

After discussing their needs with Song Shaungxi, the engineering manager of Guan Lin Electronics, Xiamen Maternity and Child Healthcare Hospital made the decision to remodel their existing security infrastructure while implementing a fresh and innovative IP-based surveillance system.
