In order to achieve their vision, the corporate sector of the Lunch Garden contacted Securipoint whom, after consulting with VIVOTEK distributer Optima Networks, designed the system to utilize the VIVOTEK SD8121 (For North America, we recommend the SD8111 NTSC Version) network security cameras and the DIVA management platform.

Account manager at Securipoint, Mr. Dini, cites the ‘excellent price/quality ratio of the SD8121’ as being one of the top driving factors in their decision to implement the VIVOTEK hardware. Furthermore, he went on to add that the IP cameras ability to effectively survey larger areas along with the impressive 12x P/T/Z capabilities and the cameras unique ability to blend in with the stylishly modern restaurant décor made the SD8121 the ideal network camera for such a trendy location.

The updated security system was so well received at the piloted locations that it is expected that the system will soon be extended to the many more of the restaurants in the Belgium area.

Not only does version 1.5.2.11 provide full support for VIVOTEK’s most recent video server (VS8801) it also works to further enhance already impressive features such as seamless recording, layout archiving, streaming and provides more finely tuned user control over Playback and camera configurations. As an added bonus, users of VAST and ST7501 will be able to effortless administer IP camera changes directly from an Internet Explorer browser.

The most noteworthy features of the new solutions include the incorporated gateway, Power over Ethernet (PoE) ports and the DHCP server. The inclusion of an onboard gateway and firewall enable the camera data to remain separate from other network traffic. VIVOTEK has been a frontrunner in IP surveillance technology for many years, their latest project, the launch of the new SUPREME series network camera line up, was the buzz around the ISC West 2011 Exposition in Las Vegas earlier this month.

The network cameras in the SUPREME series are engineered predominately for high-end applications and provide exceptional video quality available in full HD or up to 5-megapixel resolution (IP8172). One of the most revered features of this new lineup is the Supreme Night Visibility which offers users an advanced security and surveillance solution that maintains true night vision capabilities. When tested against many leading competitors, the cameras in the SUPREME series have been proven to outperform even those with high megapixel capability in low lighting conditions.

Wanting to break the barriers of the conventional security technology industry, each of the SUPREME series models containing a “P” feature utilizes the latest P-Iris lens technology. This technology facilitates the use of a built-in motor to mechanically control lens iris movement to allow for a much more precise viewing degree.

Both venues fall under the management of GESCA, the Zaidin government body that also administers the police department. The GESCA sought the assistance of established security solutions provider GUNNEBO and TECNIMATIC, a local IT & Security installer. It was with their guidance that the areas were able to implement additional security surveillance systems, as well as utilize the locations existing security resources onto an IP-based infrastructure. It was the goal of the security project to realize the full potentials of round the clock maintenance and security monitoring. They also intended to utilize the security recordings to archive sports matches for later viewing.

Facilitators of the sports stadium agreed to implement twenty VIVOTEK cameras (SD7323 (US Version SD7313), IZ7151, IP7142 and FD7132). Each camera was to be placed in a pre-determined location, with a single SD7323 being placed on top of each of the four stadium lighting towers.

The SD7323 camera is uniquely engineered for outdoor use only and features both electronic image stabilizing capabilities and strict IP67 weatherproofing ability. The 35x optical zoom enables full coverage of the large spectator area even through each dome camera was located at considerable heights.

Surveillance and monitoring of each of the additional entry was made possible by strategically placing cameras near gates and revolving doors to further enhance the security of both patrons and players. The stadium took advantage of the IZ7151 to monitor smaller locations as well as afford them the ability to quickly utilize video clarity and exceptional detail should a situation arise that would require security personnel  require to make a positive facial identification.

Despite their low prices, the supermarket chain was a regular victim to routine shoplifters even though their stores made use of Closed Circuit Television Surveillance systems. After having learned the many benefits of harnessing that capabilities associated with VIVOTEK cameras,  the chains management team agreed to implement the new system into one of their stores to serve as a test facility. After a successful test run, the chain then decided to expand the system into three additional locations.

38 VIVOTEK cameras were implemented during the testing phase, including seven IP8332 cameras. These cameras helped to rectify the previous complaints associated with exterior and entryway monitoring with CTV cameras. Inside the stores, 23 FD8134 cameras provided exceptional monitoring, enabling 1280 x 800 video at 30 frames per second. Lastly, 8 IP7160 cameras were strategically placed inside the stores to provide a wide angle view of the floor area. Each camera utilized a fisheye lens and provided 2-megapixel resolution.

A&S Taiwan has recently cited VIVOTEK as being one the Security and Surveillance industry’s driving forces at a ceremony commemorating the publication of their 100^th issue. The A&S was originally launched in 1991 and to date remains Taiwan’s only publication geared towards security experts and the surveillance industry.  The periodical deserves recognition by its own right as it has played a significant role in the raising awareness of the domestic surveillance industry and the education of security issues around the globe.

Many keynote speakers attended the event, one of who has an exhibit dedicated specifically to the magnitude of the surveillance industry throughout history. This exhibit featured some interesting ‘artifacts’ such as a security camera from the 1960’s. Not much of the event focused on the past, however, as its 200-plus participants applauded the success of the magazine and each of the awardees and their commitment to enhancing the thriving security and surveillance industry.
