MD7530 & MD7560 – New Vivotek Mobile Surveillance Cameras

Vivotek has released 2 new mobile surveillance IP cameras offering specialized monitoring in transportation environments. The Vivotek MD7530 and MD7560 offer high quality video with features tailored to mobile surveillance.

Both the Vivotek MD7530 and MD7560 offer many features for mobile surveillance. While the MD7530 offers VGA resolution and the MD7560 offers 2 megapixel resolution with EN50155 support, many of the features of both cameras are similar. Both offer MPEG-4 and MJPEG video compression with simultaneous streaming. They also offer an IP67 rated housing, protecting the camera from not only weather elements like rain and dust, but also vandals.

The built-in alerts offer instant alerts of temperature change, motion detection and tamper detecting including blockage and spray-painting. These are ideal for transportation surveillance in any mobile application. With PoE 802.3af Power over Ethernet support, these cameras offer easy installation by limiting needed cables to just a single network cable providing connection and power.

The MD7530 and MD7560 also have built-in MicroSD/SDHC memory card slots for onboard recording and snapshot storage.

Both come with free recording software that is PC based. The Vivotek software offers many features including recording up to 32 Vivotek devices.

Vivotek will be releasing two DC versions of the MD7530 and MD7560. The part numbers will be MD7530D and MD7560D. Both can be powered by DC power however they will not offer Power over Ethernet. More information will be available soon.

Vivotek IP8330 Bullet IP Camera – Now Available!

The Vivotek IP8330 is now available! This new bullet network IP camera from Vivotek is a full-feature security camera offering high detailed video at a fast frame rate of 60 frames per second – double the frame rate of most IP cameras. The IP8330 also offers crystal-clear video at VGA resolutions.

The IP8330 is ideal for either indoor or outdoor use. With a housing rated IP66, the IP8330 can withstand outdoor weather elements like rain and dust. The integrated tamper detection and motion detection is also beneficial for vandal abuse as the camera can notify security personnel when motion is detection or when the camera is spray-painted, defocused or moved. With built-in IR illuminators and low light sensitivity, the IP8330 is also ideal for viewing video at night.

As with most Vivotek cameras, the IP8330 also offers triple-codec support (MJPEG, MPEG-4 and H.264). The new H.264 video compression allows for lower bandwidth without the degrading video quality and frame rate. Simultaneous streaming is also supported allowing separate streams with customized settings (quality, frame rate and compression method).

The Vivotek IP8330 also supports PoE (Power over Ethernet) for easier installation when power is not accessible. With the built-in MicroSD card slot allowing for use of MicroSD memory cards, the IP8330 can record video snippets and snapshots locally without the need of a network, NVR or recording PC. Lastly, the IP8330 supports ONVIF for easier installation and interoperability.

The Vivotek IP7330 is a low cost bullet network IP camera loaded with features ideal for home or small business use. New to Vivotek’s dome network IP camera line-up is the FD8133. This new dome security camera offers high quality 1 megapixel video with bandwidth optimized h.264 video compression. This allows the FD8133 to offer resolutions up to 1280 x 800 with frame rates up to 30 fps. The camera also supports an onboard MicroSD card slot for onboard recording of video and saving of snapshots.

How to view Vivotek cameras on an iPhone

Vivotek has recently released a video on their YouTube channel that demonstrates how you can access Vivotek IP camera and video server (video encoder) devices on an iPhone. Vivotek IP cameras and video servers can be configured to use MJPEG video compression. By doing so, access to these devices is then possible through multiple web browsers including the Safari web browser on the Apple iPhone. Once the IP camera or video server has been configured to use a MJPEG video feed and remote access has also been configure so that you gain access via the Internet, accessing live video is as easy as typing in the device’s IP address in the Safari browser.
