AxizWorkgroup Installs AXIS Network Cameras

Monday, July 25th, 2011

For years, South African distributor of Information Technology Infrastructure, AxizWorkgroup, has been outshining the competition by offering a high quality and robust product lineup. It is the main function of AxizWorkgroup to supply high caliber infrastructure, laptops, monitors, softwares and servers. Despite their technologically proficient inventory, they were still being protected by an archaic and low quality CCTV security system.

Hoping to implement a robust system capable of meeting the high expectations they had set with their own products, Axiz promptly contacted The Surveillance Factory (Axis Solution Gold Partner, and Axis Top Sales Partner 2010). It was under their recommendation that the obsolete security system be replaced with an all new IP based system comprised of Axis IP camera products.

After accepting the proposal to redo the outdated system, several HDTV and PTZ network cameras were installed throughout the facility. The placement of each IP camera offered a comprehensive view of the most important areas around the location, such as: the external and internal perimeters, the customer service areas, and the entire warehouse vicinity. The modern and comprehensive security solution gave personnel, consumers, and suppliers the peace of mind they needed to be reassured that they were dealing with a renowned organization.

Tuesday, July 19th, 2011

Privately traded Brazilian mining corporation, Minera Vale, employs more than 100,000 people worldwide. As one of the world’s leading iron ore producers the security needs and requirements of Minera Vale are great. Especially now that phosphate production has begun in the Peruvian mine located in Piura. Not only does the mine boast a production capacity of 3.9 million tons of rock per year, but it also houses a phosphate concentrating plant that spans nearly 32 km of highway. In order to maintain control of the complex operation, it was determined to be necessary to implement a wide-ranging camera system.

After contacting Peruvian supplier of Axis network cameras, Prosegur Technologia, it was decided that the most beneficial security solution was one that included IP network cameras in the Axis 221, Axis 225FD and Axis 233D lineups. In total, 66 IP cameras were deployed and effectively augmented with the use of management software capable of permitting various integrated technologies to work interchangeably.

AXIS Cameras Used to Prevent Crime in City of Serra

Friday, July 8th, 2011

From the period ranging from 1999 to 2004 the gross state product of Serra (a bordering city of Vitoia, the capital of Espirito Santo) experienced a 5% hike. As is common with many large urban centers, this growth caused a significant increase in violent crime. In order to address the rising crime rates, the city took prompt action to ensure the safety of its businesses and residents.

At the end of 2007 the city of Serra determined that their 18 limited coverage cameras, many still utilizing analog technology, was insufficient in supporting their growing security needs. Two years later, with the assistance of municipal and Federal government funds, the city joined forces with Pronasci (the National Public Security and Citizenship Program) to mediate the best solution for their complex problem. The first, and most successful, component of the plan was to facilitate the use of 40 Axis Network Cameras, including 30 AXIS Q6032-E Pan/Tilt/Zoom Dome Network Cameras that would be placed strategically in urban streets, and an additional 10 AXIS M1054 High Definition Network Cameras to be used to monitor all access and Data Center locations.

Upon completion of the project, City Hall Secretary of Civil Defence, Joel Lyrio Junior stated, “We have achieved significant reductions I the levels of violent crime in monitored areas, border on 80% in comparison to previous years.” He went on to add that, “We (the city of Serra) have increased the quantity of cameras and changed technology, opting for a more advanced solution with better resolution quality.”
