AxizWorkgroup Installs AXIS Network Cameras

Monday, July 25th, 2011

For years, South African distributor of Information Technology Infrastructure, AxizWorkgroup, has been outshining the competition by offering a high quality and robust product lineup. It is the main function of AxizWorkgroup to supply high caliber infrastructure, laptops, monitors, softwares and servers. Despite their technologically proficient inventory, they were still being protected by an archaic and low quality CCTV security system.

Hoping to implement a robust system capable of meeting the high expectations they had set with their own products, Axiz promptly contacted The Surveillance Factory (Axis Solution Gold Partner, and Axis Top Sales Partner 2010). It was under their recommendation that the obsolete security system be replaced with an all new IP based system comprised of Axis IP camera products.

After accepting the proposal to redo the outdated system, several HDTV and PTZ network cameras were installed throughout the facility. The placement of each IP camera offered a comprehensive view of the most important areas around the location, such as: the external and internal perimeters, the customer service areas, and the entire warehouse vicinity. The modern and comprehensive security solution gave personnel, consumers, and suppliers the peace of mind they needed to be reassured that they were dealing with a renowned organization.

Sabana University in Columbia Installs AXIS Cameras

Thursday, July 21st, 2011

Founded in 1979, Sabana University has been quickly climbing the ranks as one of the most prestigious institutes of higher learning in Columbia. In fact, in 2006 the university was the recipient of the esteemed High Quality Institutional Accreditation. Among improvements to the facilities, is the necessity for enhanced security efforts to protect the large number of students and technical resources on each of its campuses. As well as the Octavio Arizmendi Posada library, which contains more than 79 thousands books and the new buildings being constructed over more than 8,161 square meters. Given the increasing size of the campus, it was necessary to replace the existing analog security cameras with a robust IP Camera solution capable of providing round the clock monitoring, while offering administrators the ability to access the system in real-time from anywhere.

The institution contacted SDS Corp who determined that an Axis based solution would offer the most benefits. In all, 108 network cameras were installed throughout and around the campus. Including: four Axis 214 PTZ, twelve Axis 211, forty Axis 207, twenty-seven Axis P1343 and twenty-five Axis M3203 IP cameras.

The outcome has been favorable. With all security and administration staff responding positively to the new network based system. Unlike the old, outdated, analog security system the Axis camera solution offers scalability, easy monitoring and helps to reduce expenses continually.

Monday, July 11th, 2011

Modern restaurants must provide more than just great food. They must also provide adequate security for both their staff and patrons. A point that one of the most established restaurant chains in Belgium, the Lunch Garden, was determined to put into action. While renovating sixty locations across the country, the opportunity to fine tune security measures with the implementation of a high end surveillance system presented itself.

In order to achieve their vision, the corporate sector of the Lunch Garden contacted Securipoint whom, after consulting with VIVOTEK distributer Optima Networks, designed the system to utilize the VIVOTEK SD8121 (For North America, we recommend the SD8111 NTSC Version) network security cameras and the DIVA management platform.

Account manager at Securipoint, Mr. Dini, cites the ‘excellent price/quality ratio of the SD8121’ as being one of the top driving factors in their decision to implement the VIVOTEK hardware. Furthermore, he went on to add that the IP cameras ability to effectively survey larger areas along with the impressive 12x P/T/Z capabilities and the cameras unique ability to blend in with the stylishly modern restaurant décor made the SD8121 the ideal network camera for such a trendy location.

The updated security system was so well received at the piloted locations that it is expected that the system will soon be extended to the many more of the restaurants in the Belgium area.

South African Sasolburg Plant Installs AXIS Thermal Cameras

Wednesday, April 20th, 2011

As part of the largest international integrated energy and chemical company on the globe, the day-to-day operations of Sasol Limited are extremely complex. Of their many strategies and business initiatives, the Sasolburg and Secunda plants hold the distinct responsibility of being the only producers of ammonia in South Africa. The Sasolburg plant experienced the need to alter their existing methods of heat intensity monitoring since the flames produced during production were virtually invisible to the human eye.

The decision was made to contact TVMS, security technology specialist, who were then given the task of testing several thermal IP cameras and determining which camera was the most likely to satisfy the intense security requirements of the firm. After the initial testing phase was completed, a series of Axis Q1910 Thermal Network Cameras were installed. As part of the well respected Axis family of cameras, the Q1910 was both cost efficient and highly functional in the chemical manufacturing environment.

The engineers and security personnel in at Sasol are far better equipped to tend to their responsibilities than ever before. Furthermore, the facility is now fully capable of tending to fluctuations in temperature as early on as possible, in order to protect the integrity of their products.
